100% Pedigree Irish Galway Wool
Knit and Made in Ridgewood, Queens USA
Left Field New York is the first American brand to bring full Irish wool back into Aran Sweaters. Traditionally Irish sheep were used to knit Irish sweaters, which makes sense, but along the way as sweater production increased manufacturers began to obtain wool from other places (New Zealand or Australia). The wool used here is 100% Irish through big efforts of companies like The Galway Wool Co-Op and Donegal Yarns.
Why use Irish wool?
The characteristics of 100% Irish wool have exeptional benefits of natural wool. First and formost these sweaters provide incredible warmth. The lanolin in the wool wicks off rain and debris. Fine fibers create a hairy, soft, and fluffy texture while maintaining breathability.
During July each year Galway Ireland has a festival of music and drinking to celebrate sheering sheep raised by local farmers. The finest wool fibers from this sheering are used for these sweaters.
Left Field has invited Joe's Authentic to debut this special release.
